The Differences Between Different Materials of Cold Drawn Steel

Cold-drawn steel of different materials has different characteristics and is suitable for different fields and uses.

1. Carbon structural steel

Carbon structural steel is the most widely used material in cold-drawn steel. It is mainly composed of iron and carbon, and contains a small amount of silicon, manganese and other elements. Carbon structural steel has good plasticity and toughness, is easy to process and shape, and is suitable for manufacturing various mechanical parts and components.

2. Alloy structural steel

Alloy structural steel is based on carbon structural steel with a small amount of alloying elements added, such as chromium, nickel, tungsten, etc. The addition of these alloying elements can significantly improve the strength, hardness and corrosion resistance of steel, allowing alloy structural steel to have a wider range of applications, such as petroleum, chemical industry, aerospace and other fields.

3. Stainless steel

Stainless steel is a corrosion-resistant cold-drawn steel material, mainly composed of iron, chromium, nickel and other elements. It has excellent corrosion resistance and aesthetics. Stainless steel can be divided into austenitic stainless steel, martensitic stainless steel, ferritic stainless steel and other types.

4. Tool steel

Tool steel is a cold-drawn steel material used in the manufacture of various cutting tools, measuring tools and molds. Tool steel has the characteristics of high hardness, high wear resistance and high thermal stability, and is suitable for tool manufacturing working in harsh environments such as high temperature, high pressure and high speed.
